My son is 8 yrs old and has been sick since Sunday night. I took him to see his Pediatrician Monday ...she is out of town until Feb 9th and I am not confident in the diagnosis by nurse practitioner. He started with little red bumps on his trunk and complaining of stomach ache. He has had diarrhea since Monday. He threw up Monday but not since. The bumps are not raised and are now on his legs and arms as well. He has had a fever of 101-103.5. He has no appetite. They prescribed a liquid form of a z-pack which he had an allergist reaction to (hives). He is allergic to penicillin. Is still experiencing stomach cramping after even the smallest of eating. I have tried to get him to eat watermelon, cantaloupe, dry toast, crackers which he will do sparingly. The pediatricians office said to call if he isn't better by Friday. The longer this goes on the more concerned I am getting. They did an in office test for strep which came back negative but she still said its a case of strep that has manifested on the outside of the body. I guess I am looking for some guidance.
