Does Taking Metrodizanole Cause Nausea, Headache And Flu-like Symptoms?

I have been taking metrodizanole for a wisdom tooth infection since Sunday. For the last three days I have felt nauseous, had a headache, and flu-like symptoms. I have tried speaking to NHS direct to see whether I should continue them, but they are very busy and have not got back to me. So I stoped taking them last night and the nausea has gone away but I have very bloodshot eyes and still have the other symptoms. I was wondering whether these are side effects and if it is worth continuing my antibiotics? Thanks

Hello
Metronodazole is used for many purposes including for amoebiasis and pseumonas infectionand also dental infection.
Nausea , vomiting , headache , unpleasant metallic taste , diarrhea, abdominal discomfort , hypersensitivity reaction, allergy are most common side effect of this drug beside stomatitis due to over growth of candida. ataxia , dizziness .
In your case headache , nausea , flu like symptoms are due to the side effects of METRONIAZOLE . So its a good thing that you stopped it .
Now for blood shots in the eyes and for other symptoms , take levoceterizine 5 mg once or twice in day for 1-2 day .
For dental problem consult your dental surgeon and get his opinion.
