Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does tea tree oil cure fordbyce spots or can it harm the foreskin if applied to it. Also I noticed a tiny dot one a tiny bigger than the others they are not noticeable at all I tried looking for them after I read about penile papulus. If I take a flash light I can see small dots that look like ppp but my question is will these grow. I don t know how long they have been their. They are so small, I believe I noticed one dot about a year ago. It s still the same size.
Fordyce spots are nothing but enlarged sebaceous glands. They are benign, harmless and does not cause any symptoms such as pain or itching. Excess oil secretion or application can also cause pimple like lesion or fordyce spots. Stretching out the surrounding skin makes the spots more visible. But other conditions such as sexually transmitted infections should be ruled out by thorough screening.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
