Does The Lap Band Surgery Helps In Reducing The BMI?
Hi there. I live in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. I am 42 yrs old , weigh between 215 and 220 and I am only 4 feet 11 inches tall. My BMI is over 40 as per an online calculation that I have used. I have looked into the Lap Band surgery and I am very interested in getting that. How do I go about getting my name on the list. I do believe I am a candidate for it .
Hello, Lap Band is a bariatric procedure which has proved significantly beneficial for people whose BMI is more than 35 or anyone whose BMI is more than 30 but has other co-morbidities. Lap band Surgery is currently safest and least invasive of all Bariatric surgeries. The weight loss is achieved by placing a gastric band around the upper part of the stomach, thus reducing the capacity which helps the patient to eat less, stay full between the meals. All you need to do is make an appointment with a bariatric surgeon, he may take an extensive medical history and information regarding your eating habits. Once he evaluates you and he believes you are the good candidate for Lap band, he may schedule your surgery at your will.I hope this information would help you and good luck for your weight loss journey.
