I m 31 weeks pregnant & noticed that my urine was slightly darker. Today still the same & after wiping & presses harder with the paper & saw traces of blood. So I rushed to the doctor who did a urine sample & said there was indeed traces of blood & white cells in my urine. I ll get the results next week but in the meantime gave some antibiotics. Is this affecting the baby? does it come from the baby?
Traces of blood and white cells in urine indicate that you are having urinary infection. If not treated, it may lead to many complications like severe infection, oedema due to loss of proteins, high blood pressure, etc. All these complications do have potential in affecting the foetal growth.
Please get your urine tested for culture and sensitivity. This test will identify the causative organisms and also will indicate to which antibiotics the organisms are sensitive. Accordingly, you will be given antibiotics.
Along with the antibiotics, please drink plenty of water and consume good amount of proteins.
I hope you will follow the advice.
