Does The Following Blood Test Result Indicate Mono Disease?

my son, they think may have mono. blood test results are; neutrophils 19.4 wbc 22.5 monocytes 1.7 immature granulocytes .11 still waiting on a call back from physician, may not be until Monday? Is there anything else I should ask, or rechecked? He does have many of the symptoms for mono, but what else could it be?

Hello. Your son according to the report provided has a high wbc count with increased neutrophils. Neutrophilia is commonly seen in bacterial infections. Monocle count is not that much elevated to signify mononucleosis. However a peripheral blood smear might help in this regard. In my opinion it is bacterial infection and should be treated by antibiotics.
