Does The Following Transvaginal Scan Indicate PCOD?

Hi, I got my TVS done and report shows - Both ovaries appear bulky with excessive stroma. Multiple small sized follicles seen peripheral. Right ovary - 3.8 x 2.6 x 2.3 cms Left ovary - 2.1 x 1.5 x 2.9 cms Right ovary shows a dominant follicle of size 18.2 x 12.7 mm. Does it show PCOD. I am planning pregnancy, would this be something to worry? My menstrual cycle is normal with a little delay sometimes. Please advise. Thanks.

Hello.

It is suggestive of PCOS. But it can’t affect your pregnancy if you are planning for it, but you need a proper and regular consultation from a good gynecologist, apart from this you need to improve your lifestyle (should exercise as much as you can, plenty of fluid intake, avoid junk and oily food), eat a healthy diet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
