Does The Fungal Infection On My Penis Indicate HIV?
hi doctor, during 2000-2003 i have physical contact with my girlfriend. But due to some problem i am unable to marry her. I married another girl by 2006. During 2007 i have done Hiv test and the result came negative. 2009 i have donated blood and they also said my blood is clean. my wife also donated blood at the same year and her blood was also clean. during 2012 my wife gave birth to first child at that time also hiv Test was done by the hospital and the result was negative. but now i am worrying whether i got hiv. i got fungal infection in my penis. Kindly advise me.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Contacting fungal infection does not always mean that you could be HIV positive. Of course, fungal infections are common in HIV positive individuals, but can happen to any person also who has decreased immunity due to other causes. You can get your blood tested anytime for the HIV status in the lab, which will tell weather it is positive or negative. Take proper treatment for the infection as advised.
