Does The Use Of Neosporin Cause Clostridium Difficile Infection

Q my husband has leukemia, is 77 yrs old. Has had c.Dif for three months. His skin is very thin. He torn off his skin on a spot on each forearm about two inches. We used Neosporin on it. Went to the dermatologist. saw a PA. They put mupirocin 2% on it and bandaged it as it was still bloody after four days. The PA did say it looked good and was not infected. That was Monday. I put mupirocin on yesterday. I am reading side affects. It says it can cause C. Dif. He lost fifty pounds in three months and appears to be getting over it. I can not believe a PA put this on the wound when she knew he had been battling C. dif. Should we use Neosporin?
