Does The Use Of Meth Can Speed Up The Damage Done By The Rheumatoid Arthritis?
I have a family member diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis last year. Our father has severe rheumatoid arthritis and mother osteoporosis. This family member started abusing meth recently. Can the effects of the meth speed up the damage of their arthritis?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
Hi Thanks for your query After going through your query, if methotrexate is abused it has other significant side effect like severe bone marrow suppression resulting decrease capacity to fight infection, liver problems and lung infections. Otherwise it is quite safe (25mg/week) as far as joint arthritis is concerned. Make him understand this fact. Take care Regards Dr.chugh http://bit.ly/drmchugh
