My 76 year old mother had laproscopic gallbladder surgery about 15 months ago. They removed 26 stones, but couldn t get the last one as it lodged in her bile duct. She is now having episodes of sudden swelling up of her abdomen, sharp pain, and severe repeated belching. She had an episode this weekend where she is now throwing up a white substance/fluid. She is insistent that she not go under the knife again, but we have been advised that if she allows this to go on, it could become an emergency surgery situation very quickly. Is this latest addition of the white substance coming up a sign of something even more serious, such as pancreatitis?
