my age is 38 yrs i am a diabetic patient since last 7 yrs and recently i am diagnosed with hyperthyroidism of 14.4. what effects will it show on my health my doctor has suggested me to use thyrofit 75 will this help me out to decrease my thyroid levels plz inform me about this. mail me to YYYY@YYYY
Hello and welcome to HCM! I read carefully your situation and i think you didn't understand right your diagnose. Since you are taking thyrofit it means that your diagnose is hypothyroidism ( the contrary of hyperthyroidism). May be the high value of TSH made you believe that you have hyperthyroidism but it is the contrary, because TSH is the hormone produced by the hypofise gland to stimulate the thyroid when it doesn't produce enough hormones. TSH 14.4 is a bit high and it means that it needs hormonal replacement to get lowered. You didn't mention your weight, but if you were a patient in my clinic i would start the treatment with 0.7 mcg/kg, and than after 6 weeks check the TSH again.
