Does Thyroid Surgery Cause Sore Pain In Shoulder Blade?

Hi I had surgery on Monday to remove my whole thyroid and surrounding nodes for Papillary cancer. I am recovering well but have a very sore pain in my shoulder blade, would this be from the surgery? Just wondering if the muscles would be sore. Thank you

Hi
No the pain is unlikely because of the Thyroid problem. However, a thyroid surgery can potentially damage another important organ which controls calcim metabolism called Parathyroid. I would advise you to get done you Serum Calcium , Serum phosphorus and iPTH and get back to us with the reports.
