Does Toe Bleeding After An Injury Need Immediate Medical Attention?

Hello. Earlier today a door was slammed into the front of my toe. It bled for about 20 minutes and then stopped. Other than bruising, swelling and pain when pressure was applied it seemed fine. That was until it started to leak a clear fluid. Assistance?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Depending on the size of the injury, you may or may not need any special medications. However, with bleeding for over 20 minutes, you may need some drugs to get over it fatser.I will suggest you try the following:
-Clean the bruise well with an anti-septic solution like betadin
-Take a pain/anti-inflammatory drug like ibuprofen
-You may take a penicillin group of antibiotic like cloxacillin to prevent infection
-Check your tetanus immunization status. If not up to date, you may see the Doctor for a bosster dose.
Hope this will help
Best regards
