Does Treatment For Strep Throat Cause Tingling Sensation And Stiffness In The Knees?

Today I went the Doctor and was diagnosed with strep throat based off the size of my tonsils and positive strep A test. I received a steroid and antibiotic injection to help combat the infection. These shots were administered anywhere from 10:00-11:00 Central Time. I am currently on Zoloft, Minastrin 24, Midol, Levsin and Bentyl. Within the past 30 minutes I have began to feel point pain within my knees. It has become more difficult to bend them. Also, a tingling sensation can be felt from anterior mid calf to thigh. I was trying to find out if these symptoms are natural with the infection and treatment, or if I should consider reaching out to the physician or urgent care.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is not related to strep throat or it’s treatment.

If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and get evaluated. We have to rule out possible causes like peripheral neuropathy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
