Foot fungal infection is a very resistant form of fungal infection. Using methylprednisolone alone will aggravate your condition. Methylprednisolone is a steroid. Steroid is used for treatment of fungal infection to relieve inflammation & itching but it is used only in combination with anti – fungal agent like
clotrimazole. Also, a
topical antibiotic is added in combination to prevent and treat bacterial infection.
Advice
1. Stop using methylprednisolone cream
2. Apply antifungal cream containing clotrimazole, steroid and antibiotic such as Lobate GM cream thrice daily
3. Tablet
Fluconazole 150 mg twice weekly for 2 months
4. Avoid sharing clothing, towels, or bed sheets
5. Wash clothes in hot water with fungicidal soap
6. Do not scratch to much
7. Take high protein diet such as eggs and cheese to boost immunity
8. Investigation – blood sugar (fasting & postprandial)
