Does Usage Of Triamcinolone Acetonide Cause Numbness And Tightness In Feet And Ankles?

I have peripheral neuropathy of the feet, ankles, legs etc. Am presently using Triamcinolome Acetonide cream 0.1% for a foot (sole and sides of foot) condition and I am wondering if this medication can increase the tightness and numbness of the feet. I have noticed that this increase of tightness and numbness has definitely increased since I started the treatment with the cream 12 days ago. The condition diagnosed by the Dermatologist is Dyshidrosis distributed on the feet, right medial plantar midfoot and left instep.

Hello,

The triamcinolone cream is a steroid cream that helps reduce inflammation in the skin by blocking the immune system from over-reacting to irritants or dryness of the skin.

However, it would not effect the nerves, and so I do not believe it is responsible for the increased tightness and numbness in your feet.

Most likely there is another cause, and perhaps your peripheral neuropathy is getting worse.

Whatever the case may be, I would definitely let your doctors know about this so that they can monitor it and look for any other causes for these symptoms that might be found.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
