Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good Day. Will using toys such as large dildos and vibrators cause an IUD to be misplaced? I have never checked my threads and they are always visible when I go for my yearly visit, but I did try and find my threads recently and am having a hard timhue but wonder if rough sex with toys could cause the IUD to be displaced? Thanks!
Generally, use of sex toys or having rough sex does not dislodge IUDs.
IUD is placed in the uterus and the penis or sex toys occupy the vagina. Since two are different compartments, there is nothing to be concerned about.
However, it is essential to check the position of IUD regularly by feeling for the position of threads. In case you do not find them, there could be a possibility of IUD being dislodged and needs to be investigated by an ultrasound scan.
Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
