Does Using Vaseline On Hands And Feet While On Xeloda Cause Redness In Heel?
I am on Xeloda chemo med for breast cancer - my hands and feet get dry and peel - I understand could be side effect to capesetabine ( generic of Xeloda) - I have been using Vaseline Intensive care on hands and feet - tonight I noticed my heels are red - could this be reaction to the Vaseline?
You are on Xeloda chemo for breast cancer. Presently your skin is getting dry but using vaseline intensive care left redness in the heals. Yes, you may be experiencing the side effects of Xeloda. The side effects of Xeloda on skin is that it causes dry skin, skin rash or itchy skin, etc. You are suggested to inform your treating doctor so that you get a follow up clinical examination done. You can use a plant based, mild moisturizing lotion or water based moisturising lotion to prevent dryness.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
