Does Vitamin B12 Deficiency Cause Delayed Periods?

Hi Usually I get my periods with a delay of 2-3 days in my monthly cycle. This time it is around 46 days and i have not got my periods. Last week I had got some lab test in which there s is a vitamin d and b12 deficiency in me and also my uric acid is high. Can this be a reason of delay in my periods or I may be pregnant?? Help

Hi I think you should do a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy first. If negative, it can be due to some stress factor or hormonal imbalances also. Vitamin D deficiency can be one of the reason of delayed periods. You can take vitamin supplements. You can take some medicines like meprate or deviry for inducing periods if pregnancy test is negative. Also get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries to rule out any other cause. Hope it helps.
