Does Vitamin Deficiency Causes Bruising Around Wrists?
I m a 59 year old female and I have started noticing that on both arms, below the elbow and close to my wrist, bruise like marks that look like it s directly under my skin. Also, i scratched my arm in the area in between the elbow and the wrist, and the skin easily tore and had some bleeding. What vitamin difieciency could be causing this?
I can understand your problem which is preventable. As per the the complaints mentioned in your case it looks like you are having deficiencies of vitamins. Vit C, K and iron deficiency can result in easy bruising and beside this there may be bleeding from the gums, etc. Kindly increase the intake of fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables in your diet to increase the stores of these nutrients.
Besides, you can take vitamin C tablets! If the problem still persists then you have get the laboratory tests done to rule out the cause of bleeding and subsequent management. Regards!
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern this could be due to Vitamin A deficiency and this need to be ruled out, some time this could be dry eczema and this also need to be ruled out, in my opinion skin lesion always demands the clinical observation for better diagnosis, hope this information helps, have a nice day.
