hi my name is sam. i have been living in ireland. i belong to india.
i have vitiligo in my fingers, genetals.i had vitiligo in my face and i had taken puva terapy and nomal colour came back. vitiligo started in my is 2003. End of 2006 I moved to ireland and have been living here since then. here the climate is very cold. even in summer the temperature will not go above 25-30 degree. now I have an opportunity to migrate to australia where the climate is mixed. there the summer the temeperature will be 35-40 and average winter climate temperature aroung 17-20. It is like a meditarenian climate.
Now the disorder is controlled and it is not spreading. I don't take medicince since 2007.
can the disorder come again if i move to a hot weather?
is my disorder controlled because of the cold climate?
Hi Sam. Vitiligo is believed to be an autoimmune disorder and temperature is not known to affect its course. It might come back but migrating to a place with higher temperature does not increase risk of its coming back. But, then medical science is an evolving thing and hence, nothing can be claimed with certainty. Hope it helps.
