Does Withdrawal From Atenolol Cause Irregular Heartbeats?
I was previously taking 50 mil of atenolol/water pill + 40 mil enalpril. taken off atenolol/water pill. only taking 40 mil. blood is now measuring 166-199 over 101 . heart has irregular beats? what s happening should I resume atenolol water combination.

Thanks for posting your query.
Abrupt withdrawal of Atenolol is not recommended as it can cause rebound increase in blood pressure and also heart rate.
The same has happened to you and due to increase in heart rate, they are becoming irregular.
I would recommend you to restart Atenolol and consult your doctor again . Ask him to reduce the dose of Atenolol gradually over period of few weeks.
