Does Withdrawal From Ativan Cause Insomnia And Sleep Apnea?
Dr. Sheppe; I finished withdrawing from Ativan in August of this year after 24 years of taking it. Now I am having secondary insomnia issues. Could this be a side effect and if so what do I do about it. I also have sleep apnea issues and am seeing a pulmonologist for it. I am currently using a CPAP machine. Thank you! Jim Feldmayer

Usually Tab. ativan does not shows dependance or withdrawal properties. So I don't think it may the cause for that.
So insomnia issues may be due to sleep apnea syndrome. As you are now on CPAP machine. It may help you. Still if not then you can take tab. ativan after consultation.
