Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Withdrawal From Z-pack Cause Low Grade Fever?
I have had a low grade fever for two weeks. I did have pneumonia and finished a z-pac a week ago. I also was drinking very heavily and have not had a drink since the 16th. I have no cough, wheezing or SOB. Could the low grade fever still be a s/s of withdraw?
Yes this are the withdrawal s/s. You need to do regular deep breathing exercises and also some simple abdominal exercises so the primary muscles of the respiration does work well.
Usually post the effect of pneumonia there are changes in the respiratory system and usually becomes weaker due to respiratory muscles weakness. The best way to strengthen is to undergo a thorough pulmonary rehabilitation so the later stages of life the alveoli do not get trouble faster.
In my clinical practice of over 12 years, patients having pneumonia and having the past history of pneumonia are responding well to Pulmonary rehabilitation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
