Does Withdrawal From Medications Cause Diarrhea In A Teenager?
Dr Rynne My 13 year old has special needs and up until last month was taking prescription meds. He always had about 3 bowl movements a day until this month he continually has about 10 a day and today he has had about 10 and it is now diarrhea and a horrible smell (like dog poop). I m wondering if this might be a side effect to coming off the meds. Any thoughts

drug withdrawal won't cuase diarrhoea. it can be due to other causes like infective diarrhoea. hydration is necessary and proper antibiotics is needed.
