Hi My name is John and I am trying to get this group to help me out, I am registered and when I look at when I sent messages out or advised someone help it has zero next to my sign in name under no questions asked or no one answered. I don't know if this forum is still in existence or not.

Anyway, I am on Fentanyl Patch at 50mcg and trying to ween myself off I am already down to a 1/4 of the whole patch, it took me many weeks to do this and I get severe restless leg syndrome. My Dr. Gave me Sinemet to take for this but I know now from reading from this forum that this is all withdrawal effects.....sometimes the Sinemet 25/100 helps if I take 2 tabs. And a lot of time it does not.I also take percocets one every 4 -6 hrs, but needing a couple xtra because my PAIN IS GETTING A WHOLE LOT WORSE BY DECREASING THE PATCH. I am in a tizzy and not know what to do.......I also am prescribed to take Zanaflex at night before bed, and to tell you the truth it makes me tired BUT NOTHING WILL PUT ME TO SLEEP WHILE COMING OFF THE FENTANYL. I am going to work my way down to at least 2mm of the patch and then take it off ......I heard the half life is 17hrs, and I guess I am going to have bad withdrawals then.......but tell me this, being that I will use my last patch at say 2mm in the width part of the patch. ( I have been covering up more and more of patch with cover slip that comes with patch to decrease dosage) I heard not to cut patch so I figured this would be a good way to do it and it is working fine... I am getting extremely tired now and if wasn't for the restless legs I would be able to put up with the withdrawals better, I get so much agitation along with it also.......I know I wrote a book here...LOL but I am just trying to explain everything I can to make it easier to try and come off of the patch, remember that I am having a hell of a lot more pain also...I do hope that will subside though once my body gets used to off patch.Thank you so much for any help.John Boyko
