Hello doctor yesterday i went to a doctor and she told me i have a yest infection. she told me to use a gynozol 400. After using i felt burning and itching. Is that common? Should i stop using the medication? The other question, is yeast infection can be a cause of infertility for the future? How could i cured a yeast infection for ever? My last question is my doctor gave me KETOCONAZOLE USP. Is this medicine is useful for yeast infection. Please give me an explanation. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The burning and itching can occur because the area is inflamed from the infection. Yeast infection does not affect future fertility, it does not have a permanent impact. There is no way to predict future yeast infection. Heat ,diabetes, use of medications that affect the immune system - can increase yeast infections.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
