Does Yellowish Vaginal Discharge Signify Yeast Infection?

I have a grainy, yellowish-white vaginal discharge. Three days ago, it used to be a bit larger (like small cottage cheese), and presented with a small amount of spotting, so I used a Canestan pill thinking it was yeast. After that, my vulva became slightly itchy and that s also when the graininess happened. The spotting is also still happening. I m using the Canestan cream. I had unprotected sex about nine days ago, and also three weeks ago. Not for over a year before that. Is it probably yeast? I live rurally, far away from doctors, so getting tested is a last resort.
