Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i currently have had bradycardia for the last 24 hour...pulse 47-53...no other symptoms except occasionaly pressure in my upper abdomin...I have a-fib and take tikosyn but no other heart meds. I am a worry wart as my hsband died in his sleep at age 56. I am 61 and worry constantly about doing the same. Does your heartrate drop when you are sleeping...will it get so low that it just stops?
Yes, there is a physiological decrease in heart rate when we are sleeping but it does never go below the value needed to maintain hemodynamic instability, your worry is unfounded.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
