Dog Prescribed Enalapil For Heart Murmur. Concerned About Side Effects Of Medication

my dog has been put on enalapil 2.5 mg. She has been diagnosed with a heart murmur , is 12 years old and I m concerned about the side effects of this medication

Hi welcome to health care magic forum, The doctor might have prescribed analoprilmaleate for murmer associated with hypertension, it is the safest drug with very few side effects as hypo tension and dry cough . So you need not worry about side effects. If the patient gets them and not relieved by treatment then only you have to think about stopping the drug. So dont worry about the side effects of the drug.
Be particular about whether the murmer is investigated or not , of rheumatic origin, genetic , or some thing else. And about further steps of further treatment to prevent the other side effects of the heart disease.
Besides i advise you some diet recommendations as give her more of green leafy vegetables, pulse , fruits, and juices for maintaining general health.
avoid giving more salt in the diet, to prevent cardiac complications. Wishing for a good maintenance of life, and thanks for calling.
