Don Is On Tramadol And Neutron For Back Pain Related

Don is on tramadol and neutron for back pain related to a bulging disc in his lower back. (confirmed by MRI) He's been on these 2 meds. since June 2015. He occasionally develops hand tremors, nausea, light-headedness and vomiting. In the past, this occurred at about 3 or 4 month intervals, but these symptoms have just started to occur more frequently and with more severity. The symptoms last about 36 hours and then disappear. It seems that these symptoms started after (unrelated?) neck surgery due to a fall 3 years ago. But since he's been on the tramadol and neutron the symptoms have worsened. As of 3 days ago, he's off the tramadol and on motrin 400 3xday for the back pain. Do you have any thoughts about the medications and especially the symptoms and what to do to relieve them?
