Done D&C After Miscarriage. Placenta Test Normal. How Long Before Conception Is Possible Again?
Dear Sir,
I have recently had a missed abortion...I lost my baby at 12 weeks and 6 days and the DnC was done on 14th August,2013. The placenta was sent for analysis, but the results have come up fine. I have now been advised for a series of tests like LA, ASA( Anti Cardio lupin), TORCH Test, Hb1ac etc.
I had taken a rubella as well as typhoid vaccine 7-8 months before conceiving.
Will I be able to conceive again? How long ahould we wait before we take another chance?

Yes, you can conceive again definitely please do not worry.
In my opinion you should try again after 1year or as early as 6months with under observation of a gynaecologist.
Take folic acid and multivitamin when you start planning again.

Hi,
I am very sorry to hear about the miscarriage. You surely will conceive again. It would be ideal to wait for at least six months before trying for another pregnancy. Meanwhile please go ahead with all the prescribed tests. If the abortus had been examined valuable information can be obtained regarding the cause of abortion. Infections, genetic defects and hormonal deficiencies have to be looked for. While infections can be treated, hormonal deficiencies complemented, genetic defects need genetic counselling prior to conception. Hope this helps. Good luck.
