Done Angioplasty. Prescribed Ecosprin And Clopilet. Only Clopilet Fine?
Sir my Mother underwent Angioplasty on 31st August, 2012 after suffering Heart Attack. The attack was reverted due to timely thrombolysis . SIngle DES was placed in the main artery . She was prescribed Ecosprin once a day a clopilet 75 twice. Now local cardiologist has stopped ecosprin and prescribed clopilet 150 once daily. Please advice.
Hi
The combination of both drugs is necessary - unless there is increased risk of bleeding.
At least for the first year, you must continue / preferable onwards too
There is also the question of resistance - and the investigation to find in every case is not cost effective
Each drugs acts by a different mechanism to achieve the same goal
Good luck / Regards
Good day
