Done Angioplasty With Stents. Burning Sensation, Restricted Urine Flow, Fever. Blood Test Normal. Reason For Infection?
Dear Dr Prabhakar Four days ago I had angioplasty with two stents. The procedure went smooth and I was released next day as planned. The following morning i had burning sensation and restricted flow of urine also by noon i had temp 100 f . I called the doctor he prescribed me antibiotic SEFSPAN 400. my blood test i(creatine NA) is normal. to day is 4rth day and i am still feeling temp 99/98 f,my urine is now clear. Please suggest why i had this infection (What might have caused it) . Would it affect my angioplasty procedure in any way? Thanks and regards S. Arfin YYYY@YYYY
A complete clinical review needs to be done in order to know exactly the origin of the urinary tract infection. It could arise from surrounding affected skin that moved into the urethra, from other sites of the body through blood flow. A history of any favoring factors around the bladder that can cause urine to stagnate could explain urinary tract infections. It s important to know if you are diabetic or not since such infections are more common under these circumstances. It might be hard getting an exact cause of the infection without a proper clinical review and physical examination.
