Done Liver Function Test. Can Weight Training Exercises Be Done?
hello sir, last day i got my liver function tested and found to have my SGOT levels to be 307U/L and SGPT levels to be 126U/L. i was doing weight training till 45 days back,but due to work couldnt do it regularly.but i had can say almost regularly chicken and hotel diet. my questionn is: 1.can i do my weight training exercises 2.is it a sign of some liver damage 3.can proteins be still taken 4.is not doing exercise off late a reason,as i used to train hard before.
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic, Your liver enzymes are elevated which indicates injury to liver. We need to know the cause, usually it is not caused by exercise or weight training.
Common causes are viral infection, Alcohol ingestion,Fatty liver and Diabetes. You should consult Physician and get Ultrasonography of abdomen and which can help in knowing the cause.
If you take alcohol it must be stopped completely. You can take normal diet and take rest for few days till exact cause and treatment is not done.
Once it is treated and then exercises can be done may be light exercise is good.
