Done Open Heart Surgery. Taking Pravastatin, Metoprolol, Pacerone. Can Lidoderm Patch Be Placed?

My Dad is 70 yrs old. He just had open heart surgery 3 weeks ago. He is on pravastatin 40mg, metoprolol 50mg, pacerone 200mg, trama-dol hcl 50mg, aleve , and 1 asprin a day. He is doing his exercises, breathing and walking. The problem is he has an old injury in one of his shoulders and using his walker and pushing himself up in bed, he has it sore. My question is: Can I put a Lidoderm Patch 5% on his shoulder?

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

This contains lidocaine – which is an anti-arrhythmic drug. / It can get absorbed / usually, there is no problem in lower concentrations... also, it is unlikely to help in shoulder pain!
Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID) can help / The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.

Take care
Wishing all well
God bless
Good luck
