Draining Ears After Taking Amoxicillin And Valacyclovir For Suspected Ear Infection. Suggest

Hi ; I have an ear infection. My doctor gave me Amoxicillin 500MG and also Valacyclovir 1MG because he thought maybe I had the start of shingles. Is there harm in taking these two at the same time ? My ear has started draining after taking medication for two days. The doctor was not sure if I had an actual ear infection because I had great pain on my ear and side neck. Ear drum looked OK. No fever. also said my tougue looked OK.

hello user,
The two drugs are of different groups ,first one is antibiotic and the other one is antiviral, they both can be taken simultaneously without any problem.
If you have a draining ear, you might require higher antibiotics.
Most of the times ear pain are referred to back of neck.

hope my info helped you
