What is this? I kept licking my lips for a while and then it started to get really dry and chapped, and then i finally got vaseline and started applying it to my lips, and since i be doing it, the corner of my lower lips have gone black? and its starting to spread inwards like its going to join together? can you help me get rid of it please.
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic, What you are having seems like lip lick cheilitis. Saliva can cause irritant contact dermatitis over lips and surrounding skin especially angles of the mouth. Most important part of treatment is to avoid lip licking. You may continue vaseline or apply coconut oil several times a day. If it is still not coming down then application of a steroid ointment will help for which you need a dermatologist's consultation. Hope this helped, Take care
