Dry Skin, Irritation During Winter And Rainy Season, White Patches On Face. Will Suncross Cream Help?

Hi doctor, can u please suggest me whether suncross cream suits to my dry skin or not.I have a dry skin which irritates me a lot during winter and rainy season.my face ll be covered whith white white patches which makes my face look worst.i m afraid to use any creams bcos usually if i try any new creams i get small small pimples .so can u please suggest me good cream for my skin

hi..thanks for your query.
Suncross is definitely a very good sunscreen and it has various types customized according to the skin type you have.Looking at your type of skin characteristics mentioned ,I would suggest you to go ahead with the lotion form which would minimize the changes of pimple breakouts.
As for the dry skin, you should always use a medicated moisturizing 'lotion' which are suited for the type of skin you have.A very thick occlusive oil containing cream can make break outs more often.
The white patches you mention can result from:
1) seborrhoeic dermatitis: this is a frequent condition occurring on and off with a special predilection to certain seasons.These result in post inflammatory hypo pigmentation on the face like the white patches you mention.It requires treatment with mile topical steroids and anti fungal creams.
2) Fairnss creams: I have encountered a lot of patients who have developed patchy pigmentation /while patches on face as a result of long term usage of certain facial creams which have 'fairness' agents or the OTC fairness products.So i would as you to refrain from doing so.
