Dry Skin With Small Pustules Over The Nose, Under The Eye. Could This Be Related To Menstruation?
I have never had a problem of any kind with the skin on my face now at age 43 it has become very dry and I have breakouts ( small pustules)over my nose and under my right eye, these break outs happen around the time of my period, and lasts for 3 or 4 days, each day I have it, it is in a slightly different location. Then it goes away for a month or so.
hi..Thanks for your query
The pustules you are talking about might be acne vulgaris.Acne can present in several forms. This includes whiteheads, blackheads, and red, inflammed patches of skin (such as cysts). In the course of evolution, you may have any or all of these. This is caused by various internal hormonal stimuli as well, which can change several times in.Onset during mensturaion shows a hormonal cause .You are nearing menopause which points towards change in hormonal mileau of your system.
Do not use heavy/thick creams ..Use only gel based moisturizers/ sunscreen for regular use.U can use a cleanser containing Salicylic acid/ Glycolic acid on a regular basis.Apply Clindamycin gel on the acne eruptions for a faster resolution.
Hope this helps..Take care!
