Dry, Spotty, Itchy Skin On Neck, Back And Spine. No Help From Anti Fungal And Steroidal Applications. Any Ideas?
yes, actually i have dry spotty skin which starts from behind the neck and covers my back then moves down on spine region...its almost 7-8 months, its not going away, shown to doctor ,used anti fungal ans steroidal applications but its not going. now its winter time and i feel itching and stretching at that region
From the information that you given,It seems to me that you are having "Pityriasis Versicolor".This is a type of fungal infection and it is treated with oral antifungal( Flucanozole )tablets and antifungal( Ketaconazole )creams. It takes substantially long time for the colour to come back.
The steroid cream don't help in the treatment of pityriasis versicolour. Sometimes when the rash is extensive and don't respond to treatment,it becomes important to rule out any other underlying disorder like diabetes, chronic illness, Immunodeficiency disorder....etc.
It is also important to maintain good personal hygiene, take bath daily and use clean clothes every day. keep a separate towel and don' share it anyone in the family and wash it daily.
I would suggest that you consult good dermatologist and take the treatment.
Hope it helps,
