Dryness In Throat, Mucus Build Up, Hoarse Voice, Gas Reflux, Allergic Asthma, Cough. Why Does This Happen?

My throat is dry during the entire day, since weeks. There is no pain, fever or itching. Just dry throat that makes me swallow saliva quite often (sometimes I have to hawk). I double checked my sleep conditions with my wife - she says my nose is perfectly clear and I do breathe with closed mouth. Since my throat is dry during all day including before going to sleep (and I consciously know that I'm breathing with nose), I don't think the cause is a sleep problem. It's the opposite: my throat condition causes severe sleep problems. If I forget to swallow salive, a thick mucus slowly builds (perhaps as a body defense to dry throat) and then I try to swallow to avoid hawking, but many times I end up hawking (during intense periods, I hawk once per 20 seconds). If I let mucus build, eventually I have to cough voluntarily. But during sleep, since I'm unconscious, I wake up many times with drowing sensation and severe coughing. Sometimes during day, I'm calm and unaware of any condition, then I need to speak and my voice sounds hoarse, and I become aware of mucus and have to hawk before proceeding with the speech.

I have allergic asthma and rhinits on dust, but they are under control with preventive drugs. I also have gastric reflux, so I avoid triggering foods. I don't eat spice, nor soda, and only drink a small cup of coffee per period (one at morning, one at afternoon, etc).

The wake up and coughing events are letting my entire family scared. I already have a doctor appointment, but I just can't wait until it. If you can give me any information help relieve symptoms, my family will be totally thankful.
