Due For Colonoscopy. Suggested Not To Eat Corn. Had Soup By Mistake Which Contained Corn. Guide
I've never done this before...this is scary. WED, 11-13-13 I'm scheduled to go in for a colonoscopy. ( think that's what they call it) I just looked at the letter they sent me, telling me what to and not to do. Re: corn, it says not to eat any in a week. This afternoon I had some soup and sure enough it had some corn in it. I just now read the paper over again and saw what it said re: corn.. Oh no what do I do? I'm almost sure I could say it was no more than 2 tablespoons of it. (if that) Help me please. I want to go through w/this. I have too much pain to ignore this. Please help me. I am scared. TM
Hello there! i read you query and i want to make you know why we say that. Colon is seen better in colonoscpe if it is empty and foods and solids add to the bulk and make stools. so we recommend fluids only at least 48 hours before the procedure. But dont worry 2 spoons of corn wont be a mess. Just take plenty of fluids, Add some laxatives and plenty of fluids and it will make the colon empty and easy to assess better. No worries. Every one had a first time in some thing some where. Its a safe procedure and no complications are alarming.
Hope i helped your mind. take care
