During Pregnancy, Can One Take Clarithromycin For Throat Pain And Dry Cough?

My wife is 23week pregnant. She had URTI about a month back. She took amoxil for it. Other symptoms gone but she is not relived with cough (dry) she still complains of pain in throat though there is minimal congestion in throat. Can she take clarithromycin?

Hi, I think she should not take clarithromycin. It is not advisable during pregnancy. She has already taken an antibiotic. So, now she can do warm saline gargle 3 times a day to relieve throat congestion. Steam inhalation will also help a lot. She can take some cough syrup as advised by your doctor.
