Hi... Difficulty in breathing while lying down is referred to as orthopnea. It is a sign of failing heart.. Occurs predominanly due to excessive fluid intake.. This may also be the probable cause for oedema.. You would need to restrict fluid and consider consulting a doctor, a cardiologist for evaluation...
