EBV Virus, Vitamin D Deficiency, RBC In Urine, Weight Loss, Bladder Control Issues. Suggest?
my husband who is 46 just got diagnoised with the EBV virus. He has been sick for over a month and the initial mono test 6 weeks ago showed up negative. He also has been diagnoised with vitamin D deficiency and with red blood cells in his urine. The initial onset of symptoms was a unexpected weight loss of 25 lbs, then fatigue and complete exhaustion. About two years ago he started having bladder control issues and hasnt had a solid bowel movement in two years. 5 years ago he got lymes disease. He is suppose to see a urologist on the 29th...
Seeing a urologist is important and you should do all to meet him. It could be possible that he has abnormally growing cells in the prostate which have more or less spread to adjacent organs. Exhaustion, weight loss, blood in urine all could be explained by the above.
The urologist would run some tests including -prostate ultrasound, -prostate specific antigen -cystoscopy and if necessary a prostate biopsy.
