My 19 month old grandson, Noah, has always been a very unsettled baby and bad sleeper, He has always needed to be nursed to settle and has always cried. A few months ago his GP referred him to an EN&T specialist here in Toowoomba, after yet another ear infection. Noah was given grommets about 3 months ago. Shortly after that, both ears began oozing puss. Another visit to EN&T, who explained that his grommets were helping, but not enough. He was put on a long term (months) course of antibiotics, but his ear infections and pain and discomfort continued. (We are thinking now that his ears have been the trouble all along, since birth, which is why he has always been such an upset baby). He is now booked to have his adenoids out 14/11/2013. Should he see a paediatrician before operation (he has not seen one), or would you agree that having his adenoids out is the next best course of action?
Many thanks, Kerrie
