Earlier Had Compression Fracture Of Vertebra. Have Neurogenic Bladder. Any Non Addictive Muscle Relaxant?
hi there.I have a question about medication.I m 31 yo female.i had a compresion fracture of vertabraes in 1997.after accident i have a neurogenic bladder .I had an operation after accident, and have stabilisation implant of the vertabraes.I m on pain most of time, but had an ct an xray done and everything is ok.i was taking tramadol, tylenol, ibuprofen, diclofenac without any results.the only thing that helps me is muscle relaxants as diazepam ,because my back muscle tension cause the pain. Please advice me is there any muscle relaxants that are not so addictive as diazepam? Thank you for advice :) K.K.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Tramadol , tylenol (paracetamol) , ibuprofen , diclofenac all are not muscle relaxant ,but all these drugs are very potent pain killer . Diazepam is a not a muscle relaxant , rather it is anti anxiety drug ( anxiolytic ) causes sedation ( causes sleep). In my opinion you become addictive to diazepam . At this condition If I were your treating doctor , I would come up with these measures for you , these includes. 1 Tablets baclofen + trypsin & chymotrypsin , this is a very good combination for muscle relaxation and most potent pain killer. 2 Use any muscle relaxant gel for massage , this will not only divert your attention from pain as well as provide relief in pain. 3 In my opinion consult a psychiatrist and get his opinion after every detail of disease . Now there is no any disease but a psychological effect of accident & trauma of that accident . Good luck. Dr. HET
