Earlier this week I was diagnosed with a sty in my eye.....the next day one toe felt sore, however I don't recall stubbing the toe nor was there an injury. The next day, which was yesterday the toe became very red and swollen....as the day progressed the pain worse. I went to urgent care .....the diagnosis being acute unsp cellulitis & abscess toe. Since have read just about everything about this on line, but still need some answers . I Am now taking clindamycin 300mg...1 capsule 4 times a day.
1.On July 8th of this year I had surgery to remove hardware from fusions L3-L4 and L4-L5 done in August of 2014. Could the bacteria occur after the procedure done in July?
2. Could having an eye sty within days of the abcessesd toe be related?
3. Is cellulitis a staph infection?
